At the foot of the Île Bonaventure cliffs

At the foot of the Île Bonaventure cliffs

The island’s sheer cliffs are a choice location for many seabirds and other visitors!

  • St. Lawrence seals

Harbour seal bottling (head out of water).

With their webbed flippers and surprising ability to dive, these amphibious mammals prey on schools of fish.

They are often seen resting on rocks.

In the Estuary and Gulf, we can see the harbour seal, harp seal and grey seal. The latter can be recognized by its horse-shaped head and can weigh up to 370 kg.
