  • A whale’s life

    Harbour porpoise’s back.

    The harbour porpoise (also called common porpoise) can live from 10 to 12 years.

    In comparison, the lifespan of most other whale species is comparable to ours.

    Some Arctic bowhead whales recently killed were even found to be more than 100 years old. Their flesh contained fragments of harpoons dating from before 1885…
