The otter has a reputation for being very playful. The energetic river otter loves to have fun in the water.
The thick layer of fat under its skin and its waterproof fur protect it from the cold.
Its webbed feet and powerful tail enable it to swim easily. Under the water, muscles close its nostrils and ears and on land tufts of hair between its toes give it a good grip.

Located in the heart of the Thousand Islands, the Aquatarium offers a great many exciting activities enabling visitors to discover the region’s aquatic diversity.
Its enormous aquarium represents the three ecosystems typical of the St. Lawrence River: lakes, rivers and shores. It also has an impressive underwater tunnel!
There is even a reproduction of the pilothouse of a ship that sank in 1912.
