Flowing towards the River, between the fjord’s dizzying walls, the Saguenay detours through this large bay.
The Fjord’ hidden biodiversity
While calm on the surface, the Saguenay Fjord is teeming with marine life, due in great part to water intake from the St. Lawrence Estuary. In it are found both freshwater and saltwater species.
The fjord is also home to many Arctic species, some of which are found nowhere else. To discover them, there’s nothing like a visit of the Musée du Fjord aquarium!
